Call for Candidates for the 2021 Board Election!  Interested members who would like to serve on the Memorial Parkway Board of Directors must contact the office at 21600 Cimarron Parkway, Katy TX 77450 by August 20, 2020 to have their name put on the Directed Ballot/Proxy for the 2021 Board Election. For those of you that submit for candidacy in the election, we thank you for your willingness to assist in the success of your community.  Remember to mark your calendars for November 10, 2020 for the Annual Meeting of Memorial Parkway Community Association.

We had hope to have a cookout pool side for the residents Tuesday, August 4th but due to COVID, we have decided not to host the event for Neighbor's Night Out. We will have a monthly Board meeting at 7pm. We plan to have the meeting via ZOOM. Please follow the information below to join the meeting.

BUDGET MEETING

The 2020-2021 Annual Budget Review and Meeting will be Tuesday, July 21, 2020 at 7pm via ZOOM.  All homeowners are welcome to attend. Please see the link to the agenda. 

In order to be compliant with the new face mask order from the local governing body:

• Persons at the pool that are not socially distanced from other persons, not a part of their family/group, outside the water will be required to wear a mask. 
• Persons at the pool that are socially distanced masks will not need to be worn. 
• Persons in water will not be required to wear masks.

These guidelines apply to ages 10 years old and older and will remain in effect until the current order expires.

We are experiencing some issues with unattended teens at Highland Knolls pool. Due to the continued misbehavior and disruption to other homeowners who are at the pool, we are limiting the number of guest that a Memorial Parkway Teen (Age 12-17) may bring in. We have reduced the number to 2 guests. We continuously see rules broken such as foul language, running and shoving, skateboards, throwing footballs, bouncing basketballs, and not following lifeguard direction. We have posted additional signage at both pools to aid the lifeguards in enforcing the rules. We hope that the unattended teens will follow the rules and behave in a proper manner so that all residents may enjoy the pools. If a teen is seen breaking any of the pool rules then they will be temporarily banned from entering the pool without their parent or guardian. 

Attention Memorial Parkway TEEN (Age 12-17) Residents

The Board of Directors meets in the Memorial Parkway Clubhouse (21600 Cimarron Parkway) on the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm. The meeting is open to all members of the Association. Due to the stay at home mandate, the Board of Directors will be meeting via Zoom. See information below with the link to listen to the meeting from the comforts and safety of your home.

Due to the fact that the Cimarron Parkway Pool has not been overcrowded upon opening.... we are now going to allow members to bring guest. A household may bring up to 5 guest per visit.

The Board is only required by the State to have ONE meeting per year, but MP has always had monthly meetings so that they can be more accessible to the members that they serve. Our monthly board meeting, will be Tuesday, June 2, 2020.

We have been actively working with our pool provider and watching closely for the Governor of Texas directives for public outdoor swimming pools.  We are eager for the Memorial Parkway pools to open. Cimarron Parkway pool is scheduled to open May 21st and Highland Knolls Pool is tentatively scheduled to open June 2nd.

The Board of Directors meets in the Memorial Parkway Clubhouse (21600 Cimarron Parkway) on the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm. The meeting is open to all members of the Association. The Board is only required by the State to have ONE meeting per year, but MP has always had monthly meetings so that they can be more accessible to the members that they serve. The Board of Directors did not meet for the month of March due to our facility rented for the primary election. Our monthly board meeting, will be Tuesday, April 7, 2020. 

The annual Egg Hunt & Spring Party scheduled for Saturday, March 28^th has been cancelled due to the coronavirus and the CDC guidelines for large events and mass gatherings. The safety of our residents is of the utmost importance to us. We are monitoring the situation closely. 

The best way to prevent the spread of illnesses, such as COVID-19, seasonal flu, and other respiratory viruses and germs, is to practice everyday preventive actions, including:

• Get a flu vaccine.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Stay home when you are sick.
• Cover your mouth or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
• Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
• Follow CDC's recommendations for using a facemask:
  • CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a facemask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.
  • Facemasks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others.
  • The use of facemasks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).
