Michael Olsen
My name is Michael Olsen and I have lived in the Memorial Parkway neighborhood for 18 years with my wife Kim and our two children, Cameron and Mikayla. Our family’s experience as residents of Memorial Parkway has been an enjoyable one. We are members of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church and we have great neighbors and wonderful friends in the neighborhood and community! Our son, Cameron, has attended Memorial Parkway Elementary School and Junior High and graduated from Taylor High School in 2014. He attended the University of Houston this past year. Our daughter, Mikayla, attended MPE and is currently attending MPJH in the 8th grade. Both have been very active in their schools’ theatre arts programs and also as members of the Memorial Parkway Swim Team. My wife, Kim, the heart of our family, has raised our children and been very active in supporting them in their endeavors over the years, most recently serving as Vice President of the Memorial Parkway Swim Team in 2015-16. Kim and I also served as C0-Treasuers for the Taylor PlayMakers Booster Club in 2014.
My career path has been primarily in mid-level retail management for Lowe’s Home Improvement and Albertsons/Randalls grocery stores. I am currently a Category Manager for Albertsons/Randalls Houston Division. As a manager, some of the strengths I’ve been recognized for are strong leadership skills, including an ability to work as a team player, working efficiently and fairly toward negotiating win-win outcomes, an ability to innovate and problem solve creatively and a willingness to help with a positive attitude. The nine years I spent in the Marine Corps Reserves early on in life, taught me the values of integrity, solidarity and commitment to service that I carry with me to this day.
The Memorial Parkway community has provided a great environment in which to live and to raise our children. I have watched this community grow and evolve over the past 18 years and have often felt inspired to contribute more. I would welcome the opportunity to give back by serving on the HOA board over the next term. What I would bring to the position is years of management experience, highlighted with the strengths listed above, along with a passion for life and a love for people and my community. I believe everyone’s voice should be heard as we work through issues together to help Memorial Parkway continue to thrive!
WILLIAM PONGRASS
I am running again for a position on the MPCA Board of Directors to continue to serve the community and achieve the goals I have set for our neighborhood. I have served as a Director on the Board for the past three years, acting as Secretary for the current year. I have also served on the Recreation committee. I am active and engaging with the members, other Board members and the office staff. I bring new ideas to the meetings and I am very conservative when it comes to spending the member’s money.
It is important that we do whatever is necessary in order to keep Memorial Parkway attractive and a nice family neighborhood where people are proud to live and own a home. I will continue to emphasize the safety and security of Memorial Parkway, as well as making sure that our deed restrictions are strictly enforced.
I grew up here, graduated from Taylor High School, became a homeowner in the subdivision in 1986 and have been employed with the United States Postal Service since 1987.
I coach my son’s baseball team and am also the 7th grade parents rep for Katy Junior High School.
Your vote will be appreciated.
PATRICIA UZZI
Hi – My name is Patricia Uzzi and I am seeking election to the Memorial Parkway Board of Directors. I have been a resident of the community for about 8 years. I am married and my husband and I just celebrated our 33rd anniversary. We have one daughter who graduated from Taylor High School and went on to graduate from Texas A & M. She and our 1-year old grandson have just returned to live with us while her husband is on deployment with the U. S. Marines. I have previously worked for the Memorial Parkway Homeowners Association and have served in a volunteer capacity for several years helping to organize many of the community events hosted by the HOA. I know this community very well and would like to continue service in a new role as a member of the Board of Directors.
It is my intention to help maintain the current level of maintenance and to review any new ideas brought forth so that this remains an organization that serves the community and benefits all residents. I believe there is always room for improvement and I would like to be a part of making changes for the better here in our community. Please vote for me and for an improvement to our community. Thank you.
DOUG WHITE
I am married with three daughters, six grandchildren and I have been a homeowner in Memorial Parkway for over 23 years. I recently retired from Xerox and have enjoyed traveling around the country with my wife.
I’ve served on the Board since 2005 as President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Before being elected to the Board, I was Chairman of the Recreation Committee for 4 years. During these past years, there have been many positive changes in our neighborhood, as well as continued growth in the financial security of the Association. I would like the chance to stay on the Board and be part of our continued success by making decisions that are the best for all of our homeowners.
